A new year, a new beginning

As we all stepped into a new year, I am hoping that 2018 will be a progressive year, full of creativity and inspiration coming along. As I am back to college from last September I have been pretty busy and lots of challenges and deadline crossed my way. I will try to keep you updated with some of the work I do in college or outside college or other work I do with quilling.  These are some of my work I did recently and I started to get to look into different types hand lettering, illustrations and wreaths.

I had some gouache paints with me and I was dying to play with my paints for a while. As I didn’t have the right paper (I had only paper for acrylic paint) I still had a go with it. I was seeking to learn more about hand lettering and wanted to give it a go learning new  ways of type and adding a bit of quilling to my design. It took me a while to cut those small pieces of paper, but I think it adds a 3D effect.  Then, the wreath design is also made with gouache paint and just playing around and let my mind “flow” with inspiration.

I wish you all a very good new year, and make the changes in 2018 that you didn’t do in 2017.

Exhibition in Kinsale James O’Neill Building ( formerly The Old Mill)

I am delighted to announce my work will be exhibited in Cork Craft and Design starting from 27th July – 3rd September 2017  part of Craft Month 2017 in Kinsale, Co. Cork  in the O’Neill’s Building (The Old Mill). This year I am trying to bring a new style in my work as I like playing with the colours and I have started to use a mix of other media such as acrylic paint.

I will hold a free quilling demo on the 9th of August from 1pm-3pm, so bring a friend along, everyone is welcome.
